William Cabiness - Clarke Co., GA - Tuscaloosa, AL?

William Cabiness appears several times in the records of Clarke Co., GA, from 1808 through 1815. He is referred to some times as MAJOR Cabiness.
One newspaper abstract from 21 Feb 1812 cautions the public against "trading for two Notes, which amount of $1250, given by the subscriber to Col. Peter Randolph. They were to have been given up to me but have not. Wm. Cabiness. Feb 20." [Peter Randolph in the next issue accuses William Cabiness of being a liar.]
Question: Is this a relative? William had a son named Peter Randolph Cabiness.
On 19 Apr 1808, Rebecca Cabiness [I'm presuming this is William's daughter as no other Cabiness appears in the tax records] marries Bouldin Cox in Clarke Co., GA. They later move to St. Clair Co., AL [This is my line].
I believe that this is the William Cabiness who moved to Tuscaloosa Co., AL. William Cabiness' will includes a bequeath to his daughter Rebecca. Here is where it gets puzzling. I've looked at both the Will as recorded in the Will Book and in the Guardian Book, and if the handwriting is compared to other handwriting on the surronding pages, it is difficult to tell if Rebecca's name is "Corks" or "Cocks [Cox]." Most transcribers indicate "Corks." I'm hoping someone has more information on this Rebecca. At the time of William's death, she's only a couple of counties east from Tuscaloosa.
