I am researching my family tree. I have a particular interest in my ggg grandmother who wrote a manuscript, particularly on her experience during the Civil War. My ggg grandmother was born Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Brumley, to Hiram and Lavicia Brumley (maiden name unknown) in Mississippi in 1847. They moved to Tennessee shortly there after to live with relatives. The 1850 Shelby County TN census (district no. 5) lists Hiram, Lavicia, and their two children living with LARKIN AND ELIZABETH BRUMLEY. I know very little of my ggg grandmother's side of the family. Mollie was sent to live with relatives in Arkansas after the death of her mother in 1857. Hiram remarried and moved to Texas until his death in 1859. In Mollie's manuscript she said she lived with the GREENHAWS. Her aunt, Usley Greenhaw's maiden name was Brumley. The 1860 census record of Searcy Co., Arkansas, shows Mollie living with the Greenhaws, as well as an elderly Elizabeth Brumley (I assume she moved to live with her daughter's family after the death of Larkin Brumley abt. 1858?). If there is any information on this line of the Brumley family, please inform me. If anyone knows anything of Hiram and Lavicia (or Hiram's second wife, and possible children), even better! Anything would help!
