Looking for information about a WILLIAM W. BRUCE who was listed in the 1850 census for Madison Co. TN. He was married to Ann Jackson. His children in 1850 were listed as Eliza J, 15; John A,12; Amanda E., 10; Sarah A., 9; Dulcinia ?, 7; Martha F., 5; William A, 4; Mary E., 3; Parmesa ?, 1. All were born in TN. There is a Charles Hewitt also listed in the household, born in France. Other information I have is that William W. Bruce was born in 1814 and died in Fannin Co. TX. In 1860 he and family were listed in Honey Grove, Fannin Co. TX. Others in household were Sarah A., 19,; Dulcina, 17; Martha P., 15; Wm.?, 14; Mary, 12; Parmetha, 10; Robert, 4; John, 23. In 1870 they were listed in Bonham, Fannin, TX. I believe William Bruce and family may be connected to the EDITH BRUCE who married my great-great-grandfather, John Woodell, in 1847, Madison Co. TN. She was his second wife, not my ancestor. Later on Edith and some of her stepchildren were living in Lamar Co. TX, not far from Honey Grove in Fannin Co. One of the stepdaughters, Martha Woodell Reif Gore, was living in Bonham, Fannin Co. TX, 1860. She was married to Miles Gore (or Goar). In that household were two Bruces, Robert and John ?. Not sure of Robert's age but John was 16.( William W. Bruce in 1970 had a one year old child, Charles B. Jackson, in his household and next door to the household of Miles and Marha Gore lived a Burton ? Jackson. After Miles died I believe Martha married a Jackson, so there may definitely be a connection between these families.) I mostly need information on EDITH BRUCE and her connection to these Bruces, but ANY information at all on these families would greatly be appreciated!
