William Russell Bruce of Sumner Co, Davidson Co, Cheatham Co, in TN 1888-1965

I am trying to locate information on the parents and grandparents of my grandfather, William Russell Bruce(seems to have been born in Gallatin, TN. His father was JR (possibly John Robert) and mother Mary (believe her maiden name was Collier. My grandfather's siblings were: Robert M,Perle,Curtis(believed born in Nashville,TN), George,Henry? born in Nashville, TN), Edmon Spencer,Edward (possibly Frances Edward, Ocie, John, Juanita,and Savanah. I have been able to find some information using census from 1900,1910,1920. But I just feel if I could find out the father and mother of J R Bruce and of Mary Collier Bruce, I could really make a "chip" in the brick wall I seem to have run into. Thanks so much....Karen
