I have a Nancy Alabama Brooks, d/o Samuel Brooks born about 1877 in Monroe Alabama, but no John Sawyer Brooks or Lydia Alabama Brooks.

I did find a Lydia Higdon in 1900 Conecuh, Ala census with stated birth date as March 1880. Married to a Frank Hidgon and they had a son named Samuel.
