I'm looking for information about the following family. Edward Brooks married Ann Children Edward Owen Brooks christened 25th May 1809 St. Philips, Birmingham, Warwickshire Matilda Brooks christened 30th March 1812 St. Philips, Birmingham Adeliah Brooks born 19th Oct 1814 christened 7th Nov 1814 St. Philips, Birmingham Emma Brooks born 19th Oct 1818 christened 3rd Nov 1818 St. Philips, Birmingham Edgar Brooks born 23rd Sept 1825 christened 27th Dec 1825 St. Philips, Birmingham Frederick George Brooks born 18th Sept 1828 christened 1st Jan 1829 St. Phillips, Birmingham. I have found Edward Snr and his children, Matilda, Emma and Frederick in the 1851 census in Birmingham. All are recorded as Gun Makers. The ages of the children are pretty accurate as 38, 31 and 23 but Edward's age is recorded as 54 which means he was 12 when his first son was born!!?? I have a record for a marriage between an Edward Brooks and an Ann Owens on 5th Feb 1810 at St. Mary's, Handworth, Staffordshire. I have looked up the parish registers for the baptisms and the marriages but have found no extra information. The surname varies between Brooks and Brookes. I haven't been able to find any one on any other census apart from another Edward and Ann that may be Edward Jnr. I know Frederick George went to Australia in 1852. I would be interested in any information on any of the members of the family Notify Administrator about this message?
