I trying to locate living male Brooks descendants of Robert Rose Brooks for DNA testing. Here is a summary of male descendant of this line:
Robert Rose Brooks, b. 1762, VA, mar. 1st Mary Parham, 1780, Meckleburg Co, VA, mar. 3rd Nancy Gilmore and d. ca 1848 in Pike Co, AL. Robert and Nancy had three sons:
1 - Samuel W. Brooks, b. 1820, GA
2 - Jordan Gilmore Brooks, b. 1822, GA
3 - Sterling Harrison Brooks, b. 1824, GA - no sons lived
1 Samuel W. Brooks had three sons:
Francis M. Brooks, b. 1842, AL - no known descendants
Judge Brooks, b. 1846, AL - no known descendants
William W. Brooks, b. 1848, AL - no known descedants.
2 Jordan Gilmore Brooks married Mary Walker and died in 1863 in the Civil War. They had four sons:
Leonidas Monroe Brooks, b. 1845, Pike Co, AL
William Wilson Brooks, b. 1846, Pike Co, AL
Robert Warren Brooks, b. 1852, Pike Co, AL - no known desc.
Millard Filmore Brooks, b. 1856, Pike Co, AL
