I having recently submitted the DNA for my Brooks as follows:
143921 - Robert Brooks Casey - 24 markers analyzed and last 13 markers due on 3/13/09
Already mapped to R1b1b2 haplogroup
Robert Brooks, b. ca. 1736, r. Mecklenburg Co, VA
Jordan Brooks, b. ca. 1766, r. Edgefield Co, SC
Williamson Brooks, b. 1800, r. Talbot Co, GA
Francis Asberry Brooks, b. 1837, r. Hays Co, TX
Robert Wesley Brooks, b. 1876, r. Washita Co, OK
(my grandfather and grandfather of donor)
Here are Brooks line that I need DNA to test for possible connections and establish a baseline for my line above:
1) Find male descendant of Elisha Brooks who I believe is Jordan's uncle. DNA should support this connection or eliminate it. Need to locate living Brooks male descendant.
2) Need to locate a male descendant of Robert Rose Brooks, Jordan's only brother where we have it traced
down to 1900. Have 30 or so male descendants but no living male descendant. Need to locate living Brooks male descendant.
3) Need one or two more sons of Jordan Brooks other than Williamson Brooks. Isham, Robert and John Wesley are
the easiest lines to get male descendants. Three sons of Jordan may be enough for this phase.
4) Always thought Jordan Brooks who married Elizabeth Cochran was a relative. Have compiled a lot on this line hoping to connect to my line. DNA could confirm or eliminate this line.
Depending on the line, number of markers and available traditional documentation available. I will assist with the costs of these DNA tests. Only interested in 37 or 67 marker Y-DNA tests. See more about my Brooks line at my web site (www.rcasey.net).
