A biography/family history of Ben Brooke, MD, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 2, pgs 618 & 619
Father: Benjamin Coddington Brooke, b. 1822, Morgantown, WV, son of Thomas Frederick & Mary (Coddington) Brooke of Prince George & Alleghany, MD, respectively. Ben, died in 1891, Helena, MT. Mother: Sarah Macbee.
Benjamin C. Brooke, Jr., was born 9 May 1872, in Helena, MT. He was educated in public schools of Helena and graduated from Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York City, 1896; and in 1898 went to New York Post Graduate School. From 1897 to 1903, he served as city and Lewis and Clark county physician, and for three terms as County coroner.
In York, Nebraska, Benjamin married Miss Bertha Sands of Rushville, IL. Children: Virginia, who died in 1919, age 10; Ben, Jr., who died in infancy; Bennie, b. 1911; Wallace, b. 1914; Robert, b. 1917.
