WATERVILLE -- Alcide J. Bouchard, 93, died on Oct. 8, 2005, at Oak Grove nursing home. He was born in Winslow on May 27, 1912, a son of Henry and Denise (LeClair) Bouchard. Alcide was a member of Notre Dame Parish. In his younger years he enjoyed a career as an amateur boxer. During World War II, Alcide was stationed in Germany and France from 1941 to 1945 as a member of the Army. He worked for many years as a watchman at C.F. Hathaway Shirt Co., retiring in 1973. Alcide was predeceased by his loving wife, Sabina (Urbanovich) Bouchard; two brothers, Armand and Alphie Bouchard; and two sisters, Alma Carter and Agnes Charland. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Poissonnier of Augusta and Joan Gagne of Waterville; six grandchildren, Kim, Linwood, Tammy, Rodney, Carol and Sherry; eight great-grandchildren, Jazmin Rodrigue, Taylor and Logan Poissonnier, MyKayla and Michael Gogan, and Nicole, Cameron and Katelyn Gagne; a sister-in-law, Mary Hapworth of Waterville; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.
