Oscar Joseph Bouchard, 1880 - 1967
Posted by: CHARLIE BOUCHARD (ID *****6375) Date: May 05, 2003 at 18:18:45
  of 1127

I have been researching the arrival of my line of Bouchards in St Lawrence
Co., NY, for about three years now. Oscar Joseph Bouchard arrived in DeKalb or
DeKalb Jct. in 1899 from Montreal Quebec. He lived at a boarding house run
by the family of his future spouse, Mary Jane NEWVINE. The boarding house
served the workers of the Stella Mines nearby. Several queries: 1. Does
anyone know of a history of the Stella Mines, where Oscar probably worked?
2. Does anyone know when the mine started and where it was located
exactly? 3. Does anyone have information (Photos?) on the location of the
Newvine's Boarding house? 4. Does anyone know if the building still
stands? Where?
