In responce to some old message. This is what I have on our ancestors. Rene Jette on page 132 says that Claude's wife was Louise Gagne. Tanguay on page BOU 364 says that Claude's wife was Louise Gasnier. I record it as Louise Gagne/Gasnier. In the 1600 and 1700 and most of the 1800 peoples names were spelt in many different forms. It all depended on who wrote the document and how they were use to spelling the name. Most of them had no education and did not care how you spelt their name. Their names were spelt differently from one census to another and from one document to another. Janet Notify Administrator about this message?
