Melba Boshers


MT. PLEASANT, TN -- Melba Ruth Boshers, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at her residence on Lawrence Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Services for Miss Boshers will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The Mt. Pleasant native was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Finerty Boshers. Melba helped her mother raise all of her brothers and sisters, she enjoyed reading ,receiving mail, watching television, held all family reunions at home and collected stuffed animals. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by four sisters, Mildred (Franklin) Burgett of Mobile, Ala., Gracie (Euell) Stutts of Florence, Ala., Betty (Oscar Lee) Sims of Florence, Ala. and Dorothy (Sam) Thomas of St. Charles, Mo.; three brothers, Horace (Faye) Boshers of Mt. Pleasant, Carl (Katie) Boshers of Columbia and Sammy (Shirley) Boshers of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Flo Boshers of Decatur, Ala. and Dorothy Boshers of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Boshers and Joe Boshers.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Boshers, Jr, David Boshers, Hugh Stutts, Carl Boshers, Jr., Phillip Boshers and Kari Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be the J.B. Smith Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
       
       
Special thanks to her brother and sister-in-law, Horace and Faye Boshers, and a special friend, Faye Davis who cared for her needs for many years.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim, 2014 Elmer Pogue Drive, Columbia, TN 38401.
