Marti, how are you doing on your research? I just found my great aunt married an Oswald Boll, a 21 year old,German speaking native of St. Gallens who arrived in New York 25 Sep 1920 to visit his uncle, also O. Boll. The engagement was announced in 1923 but they were still not married in 1929. The couple returned to Switzerland and were living in Zurich in 1943. The spelling is "off" but the pronounciation is the same.
