BEALE, Dorris Marion (nee Hall) beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, died peacefully Monday, July 23, 2007 at age 96, in her own home and on her couch. Dorris had resided in Washington Township for the past 59 years. Born in Barre, Vermont on July 27, 1911, daughter of Ester Painter and Harley Franklin Hall, most of her school years were spent in Forest Hills School in Springfield, MA where, as a near-straight "A" student she skipped a grade and added the distinctive second "R" to her first name. After graduating from the High School of Commerce, Dorris moved straight to the higher paced challenges of Washington DC and was eventually transferred to Louisville, KY, where she met the dashing James P Beale with whom she moved to Dayton and began their family and eventually founded the Beale Construction Company. Dorris is survived by her five children: Joanna Kade Cumberland of Manhattan, NYC; James Edward (Linda) of Waterford, MI; Jeffrey Painter (Cheri) of Elkridge, MD; Jonathan Robert (Lola, dec.) of Wilmington, OH; Jerry Hunter (Nancy) of Germantown, OH; and by 12 grandchildren - Dan, Lisa, Scott, Chip, Lonnie, Carolyn, Danyel, Jason, Amanda, Jeremy, Julia and Jenna as well as 11 great grandchildren, and by much younger brother, Robert William Hall of Kettering. Visitation will be this Friday, July 27th (Dorris' 96th birthday) between 6 and 9PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main Street in Centerville, OH., and funeral services will take place at Routsong on the following day, Saturday July 28th at 10AM. Contributions may be made in Dorris' memory to Cox Arboretum or the National Audubon Society.
