John Wesley Railey lived on a farm across the road from where New Hope Methodist Church was located. Both the farm and the church were no more than 100 yards from the VA/NC line. I do not known who his parents were. I know of one son, James Goodman Railey, "Mr Jim". Married Elizabeth "Miss Lizzie" Bryant, daughter of Richard Lewis "Toolie" and Lou Hill Bryant. They had two sons Richard and Russell, both of whom are now deceased. That's about all I know of the Raileys
Martha Ann Britt (most often seen spelled Brett) was the daughter of Henry and Martha C. Benthall Brett. Henry was the son and one of nine children of Etheldred and Elizabeth Goodman Brett. To my knowledge, no one has found the parents of Etheldred, but there are several of us who would like to know.
Elizabeth Goodman was the daughter of James and Parthenia Barnes Goodman. James was one of ten children of Joel and Ann Pipkin Goodman. Joel was the son of Henry Goodman. Ann was one of ten children of John and Martha Goodman Pipkin.
Parthenia Barnes was one of ten children of Thomas and Elizabeth Blanchard Barnes. Thomas was the son of Richard and Mary Barnes. I have not made a positive ID of who the parents of Richard were as of yet.
