The January 2007 issue of ANTIQUES magazine on p. 180 pictures a portrait c. 1766 in Charleston, SC, of Mrs. John Beale (d. 1771, nee Mary Ross). The portrait is in the collection of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Winston-Salem, NC. This fine portrait should be made known to the Beale and Ross families. I am scanning it in case any of their descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Beale and Ross families ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the families. It may not have extensive genealogy value, but it certainly does have a whole lot of family and historic value. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. PLEASE RESPOND BY EMAILING ME DIRECTLY and NOT by posting a reply on this genforum site, which I might not see. If it were a portrait of a Pease lady, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
