Veteran Railroad Conductor Dies

William Beale, 67, a former resident of Port Huron, now residing in Detroit, died Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at the home of his sister his, Mrs. William Mudge, 927 Water Street, after a brief illness from pneumonia.

Mr. Beale is survived by his wife three sons: Francis, Raymond and Myles Beale, all of Detroit, four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Atkinson, Mrs. F. D. Soveign and Mrs. William Mudge all of this city, and Mrs. M.J. Madden, Detroit. Three brothers, Albert Beale of this city, and Anthony Beale, Memphis, and George Beale, Saginaw.

Mr. Beale was one of the oldest conductors in point of service on the Pere Marquette railroad, having started at work when the road was known as the "Narrow Gauge." His first run was from Saginaw to Port Huron and in later yeas he was transferred to one from Mt. Pleasant to Detroit. Mr. Beale made his home in Saginaw for a shot time before moving to Detroit.
The body was taken to Detroit today and funeral services will be held from St Agnes' church, Detroit, Wednesday morning.
