Hello Claire Edge-My Thomas Chedd Sr. was born July 1, 1825 in Dorset, England and is the brother of Mary Ellen Chedd b 1832 Whitchurch Canonicorum, Dorset England and Eli Chedd b.1828 same place married Harriet Eveliegh and George Chedd b.Apr 15, 1832 who married Elizabeth Unknown. Their parents are Richard Chedd b 1803 d.1882 in Whitchurch Canonicorum, Dorset England married Hannah Beale b 1803 d.1877. This info was shared to me by Stumpy Marsh a descendant of Eli Chedd along with the Bishops Transcripts, Baptisms by Annie Sting Parish Register Dorset Record Office.
