Just browsing various family forums and saw this post. Presume you have gotten your answer by now but here is the spouse of Jean-Baptiste (dit John) Babineau

Suzanne Maillet (aged 19 in 1881 census), d. March 20 1933 at Ste-Marie.
Parents: Cécime Maillet & Marguerite Allain

Donald, this source is a goldmine of information on the founding families of St-Norbert and succeeding generations. If you don't have it, I would be happy to research some additional families for you.
