Dear Perry,
I just came across your post and I looked over my information and I am confused. My information came from the Austin of America Association and the children that I have listed for John Austin & Charity Kendrick does not include an Alexander Austin. Are you referring to John Austin b;1729 in Prince George's Co., Md., son of John Austin and Mary Unknown? I have the children of John Austin & Charity Kendrick as:
1.Zachariah Austin b:20 Jan.1763 in Rock Creek, Frederick,
Md.--he died 1830 Ohio Co., Ky.--He married Margaret
Offutt 1789 in Montgomery, Md. she was b:22 Jul.1760 in
Frederick, Md.--she was the daughter of William Offutt 3rd
and Elizabeth Jackson Magruder. Margaret d:1820 in Ohio
Co., Md.--Margaret Offutt had been previously married to
Baruch Odel--NOTE: Baruch Odel's Will 1788/89 left his
plantation named "Grubby Thicket" to his wife Margaret
(Odel) Austin and their 6 daughters. By late 1815,
Zachariah Austin, after buying from Margaret's daughters,
their 2/3 rights to "Grubby Thicket", sold it to George
Bohrer of Georgetown for $2,960.oo and in 1816 Zachariah
bought 800 Acres on Rough Creek. Zachariah and Margaret
had 7 children.
2.James Austin b:11 Jun.1765 Frederick Co., Md.--he died
23 Jul.1850 in St. Vincent, Union, Ky.--He married
Ann Nancy Howard in 1790 in St. Rose, Washington, Ky.
she was b:22 Aug.1765 in Va.--she died 12 Dec.1833 in
Springfield, Washington, Ky.--James and Ann had 9 children
3. Amelia Austin b:1768 Frederick Co., Md.
4.John Kendrick Austin b:21 May 1770 Frederick Co., Md.--
he died 14 Mar.1857 Ohio Co. Ky., he was buried in the
Austin Cemetery, Ohio Co. Ky.--he married Cassandra Odell,
b:29 Feb. 1780 Montgomery Co., Md., she was the daughter
of Margaret Offutt and her 1st husband, Baruch Odel/Odle.
Cassandra d: 17 Jan.1832 Ohio Co. Ky. and is buried in
Beaver Dam, Ohio, Ky.--John Kendrick & Cassandra had 13
children.
5. Hezekiah Austin b:1772 Frederick Co, Md.--when he died is
unknown--he married Elizabeth Odle on 15 Dec. 1796 in
Frederick, Md., she too was the daughter of Margaret
Offutt and her 1st husband Baruch Odel/Odle.--no info. on
her birth or death. Hezekiah and Elizabeth had 3 children
6.Amos Austin b:1775 Frederick Co., Md.--he married Ann
Higgins--no other info. on them
7.Jonas Austin b:1777 Montgomery Co., Md.--he married also,
Ann Higgins on 15 Jan.1799 Montgomery Co., Md.--no other
info.
8.(son) Austin b:after 1774
9.(son) Austin b:after 1774
There is no information on these last two, perhaps one of them could have been Alexander Austin.
