Thanks for the info. Which LaPorte County book are you referring to: Daniels? Have found Waite listed in Sievers book on Vermont as a land owner and militia member in Swanton in approx 1808, and as a militia member in 1814 in Ft Covington New York. He is on the census at each place. I am Sands gggson. All info comes to an end there, have been trying to track Waite: (what is his right name, place of birth, wife, parents,etc. I believe he is buried in Ft Covington NY, my cousin, Garry Austin having found his grave and that of a Mary LNU during a visit there.
