The parents of Sabilene Speegle who married George Austin 1849 in Winston/Hancock Co. were David Speegle and Winafour who had a large family in Northern District of Hancock Co. They lived on what was called the Speegle Blaze Road, now Lacon Rd. that goes up the Lacon mountain in Morgan Co, AL and crosses over into what is now Cullman Co. but was once part of Hancock Co. The Speegle/Speigel family was german and has published genealogies that go back many generations. See libraries in Decatur, AL and Huntsville, AL.
Of course, It is the Austins I am looking for. Who was the George Austin born 1796 in South Carolina and his wife Barbara born 1806 in North Carolina? Who were their parents.
