Thomas Elmore married his aunt? Huh?

OK. I don't get this: Thomas Elmore of Virginia (about 1671-1725), son of Thomas Elmore and REBECCA AUSTIN, is supposed to have married MARY AUSTIN. Rebecca and Mary, born maybe 20 years apart, are both daughters of a James Austin.

So father and son Thomas Elmores both marry Austin girls whose father has the same name, James.

In other words, the younger Thomas Elmore married his aunt?

I hope something is wrong with my information ...
