Hi Robbie,

I saw your message on the GenForum about William Littleton Astin. I am a Great-great grandson of William Jabry Astin and Sarah Long and I have several Astin Family bibles. William Littleton Astin's father was Rev. Soldier Robert Astin. His mother was Susannah Mapp, not Nancy Vaughn as you mentioned. Mrs. Nancy Vaughn was his second wife whom he married in 1827 in Greene County, Georgia. She was a widow with children. I have an extensive database of Robert Astin's descendants. He had three children: Mary Ann, born in 1790 in Virginia who married Emanuel Parker and William Littleton, born in 1792 who married Sarah S. Parrish, and Rebecca, born in 1828 who married Edwin S. Parker. Mary Ann and William were the children of Susannah Mapp and Rebecca was the daughter of Nancy Vaughn. The Parkers all went to Texas. William L. Astin is buried on the old family homeplace near Palmetto, Coweta Co., Georgia.

Cheers for now!

Tom Valentine
