I have seen court house records of in Pittsylvania Co. Va. with William Astin as witness in the late 1700's. My 5th Great grandfather Taliaferro Carter married Kitty Astin in Pittsylvania Co. Va. in 1799. I hope this can help you out some and maybe help me too. Raymond Carter
