William, I am researching the exact family that you have just mentioned. My grandmother is Martha (Astin) Stubblefield. Her father was Roland Astin, who was the son of William Astin. Do you know this family? By the way you are talking you must be my grandmother's cousin.
I have found a census, as I mentioned in another post, that has Walter Astin living in Joppa with a son George Astin. They are living next door to a bunch of the boys that were in the same Civil War company as George, and I believe that this George is the George Astin in our family.
Do you have any information that you could send me? I really do not have very much information on this family, and I am very interested in what you might have. I can tell you what little I have, and I might have something that you dont' have, and that might help us both!
