My early family were situated around Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall - Yorkshire. My great, great, great grandfather lived in Heptonstall, he had a daughter Mary (unmarried) who
had twins - James and William. William died in infancy and Mary died when James was seven years old. He was brought up
by his grandfather until he was ten years old when his grandfather died. I lost track of him at this point but he turns up later married to Hannah Maria Sharp. My grandfather Amos Astin was one of their children. Amos Astin married Daisy Sowden and they had six or seven children - the youngest being my father also named Amos.
My dad was a twin but is sister Daisy died when she was only one year old. James Astin worked in the cotton industry. This is all the information I have- can anyone help me fill in the gaps - ie. James's brothers or sisters,
Mary's brothers or sisters? Any info would be welcomed.
