Hi Bill, not many Ashcrofts in Scotland it seems. My connection is through my gt gt grmother Mary Ashcroft whose father was Jeremiah Ashcroft who also had a son called John. All I know of them is that they were in Glasgow when my gt gt gmother Mary Ashcroft was married in 1876 Mary was born 1n 1840. Jeremiah was a "lay preacher" Thats it except that the women of each generation have had a large mole on the upper left cheek. I have it also my mother and my grandmother and I believe it may an Ashcroft trait. n.b Dame Peggy Ashcroft the actress had one ????
