Arneson Family Genealogy Forum

I am a descendant of Karl Arneson son of Arne Arneson and Karen Christiansen who lived in the vicinity of Olso, Norway. Karl Arneson was married to Anna Emila Berg who was from the vicinity of Stockholm, Sweden. Around 1910 Karl and Anna immigrated to America. Karl went to work for the Homestake Mining Company at a mine near Terry, South Dakota. The headquarters for the mine is in Lead, South Dakota. They had four children. The oldest two Art and Einer were lost track of in the Detroit, Michigan area. A third son, Charles was born in Terry, South in 1928. My mother Olga Margretta was born in Rosecommon, Michigan in 1922. The Arnesons moved to Rosecommon and Detroit, Michigan areas in the 1920's where Karl worked in one of Henry Ford's factories until he was laid of at the start of the depression. Karl, Anna, Charles, and Olga returned to the Terry, South Dakota are where Karl he went back to work for the Homestake Mining Company. Anna died in the 1930's and is buried in Lead, SD. Karl died in the 1940's and is also buried in Lead, SD. Olga died in the 1980's and is buried at Black Hills National Cemetary next to her husband Cornelius Tierney Hackler. Karl had a sister Emma who immigrated to America in 1910. She married Oscar Nelson and farmed in the Nemo, South Dakota area until their retirement and deaths. If anyone has any more information on any other members of the Arneson or Berg families I would appreciate it. I would especially like information on Art and Einer Arneson who stated in the Detroit, Michigan area for some time. Michael Hackler Thoreau, New Mexico
