There are historical records that indicate an 'Teodoro Arellanes' coming as a settler to California between 1790 and 1800. In 1693 an ' Sieve Arellano ' from Navarre, Spain, came to Mexico as a settler, per Spanish ship logs of that era. Search: www.freesurnamesearch.com/search/regional.html then go to 'Mexico' and check out those sites, some names have their meanings and coat of arms explained! It appears though that the names 'Arellano and Arellanes' are the same, as Arellanes would be the plural form of Arellano! Anyway, Arellano apparently means 'sift'. Good luck! I am Osornio. Check out my family home page! Bye. Notify Administrator about this message?
