My great grandfather, Giovanni Altomare was born in Rogliano Cosenza in 1873. He came to the US in 1902, and also had a brother, Carmenuci, who was older and came over (we do not know where in South America Carmenuci went to after 1910, but he did leave the US during this time).

THese folks settled in Butler County, PA and eventually moved to Northumberland County.

If you go to a Latter Day Saint Family History Center, you will find that a microfilm is available for you to rent for the Calabria region. The writing is very difficult to read, but I know I found many Altomare from this region.
