Hi, I just read your inquiry at Genforum.com. My paternal great-grandfather was Pietro Altimari, sometimes spelled Altomare. At Ellis Island, New York City, it was spelled both ways. He was married to Angela Marie Cerenzia. They had three children: Dominic, Guissepena(unsure of spelling)and Rosina. Guissepena Altimari is my paternal grandmother, married to Michele Garofalo. They all came here to the United States from Petilia Policastro. Pietro Altimari came back & forth at least three times from Italy to the United States. My great-grandmother, my grandmother and my father came to the United States in 1912. If you think there is a family connection here, please write back. I have a lot more information.
