Hi David, saw your message re: Altomare from Cosenza. My Grandparents were from Rogliano and Verbicaro. My niece and her husband are currently stationed in Sicily. They took a trip to Calabria to see if they could find some of our Altomari (with an 'i') family. They sent a picture of a street name named Altomare. They said altomare is as common in Italy as Smith is here. Good luck finding your family!
