Al, Thanks for the info! I'm new at this but it appears John Allen Adams (1845 - 1925) was my great grandfather. And his father was Lewis Nashwell Adams (1813 - 1899). The history for these two names begins in Georgia, includes the U.S. Civil War and ends in Alabama. I would like to pool as much information as possible at (at least) one web site. I'm presently using the Family Pursuit web site for this purpose. The link is: http://www.familypursuit.com. The emphasis at Family Pursuit is on "collaborative" genealogy. Consequently, "collaboration" is facilitated. But web site "navigation" is somewhat difficult. My brother (Robert Louis Adams) and I have a "private" Family Tree at familypursuit.com. We're always on the lookout for someone with relevant GEDCOM files. Membership is free but an "invitation" is required to join a private tree (which includes living individuals). At this point, our database at familypursuit.com is small but growing. Help is needed from anyone willing and able to contribute research time and/or upload existing files. Please let me know if you would like to join the effort. My email address is: aa26668@comcast.net. Please feel free to contact me at that adddress. And thanks again for your response to my posting.
