Al,

Good to see your posting.

My line goes back through James Adams, Jr. who came to Elbert Co., GA from VA about 1799. He was the son of James Adams and grandson of the person known as Robert Adams of Goochland, VA (c.1690-1741). James, Jr. who came to GA had a few sons. One was John C. Adams, who is my ancestor. Another was Samuel Adams who went to Alabama (around and in Russell County) in the mid 1800's.(He was in Elbert Co, GA in 1830 and Russell Co., AL in 1840). He died in Midway, Barbour Co., AL on 6 Nov 1861. Samuel had quite a few children who were in that Russell, Barbour Co area. Russell Co., is adjacent to and just Northeast of Barbour Co.

There are descendants of Samuel who have matched DNA with me and with other descendants of Robert of Goochland. Since you are an Adams male, you could jump into the DNA pool and see if there is a tie to our Adams line.

One of the other Al Adams (Robert Allen (Al) Adams)
