I found out that my great-grandmother, Nancy O'Nan Bennett born Sept 9, 1856 in Henry Co., KY., was not the child of Richard & Sally Adams Bennett. His name appears on her marriage bond in Henry Co., to Andrew J. Vest. Mr. Bennett must have adopted her. On the 1860 census of Henry Co., KY. she is listed in the Bennett H/H but the child of Rachel Adams age 42 born KY and had a sister Sarah J. Adams age 9.
Nancy was only about 4 + years old. If anyone knows this family and who Rachel was married to and who her parents were please post here so others can view. Rachel, Sarah nor Nancy appear in the 1870 census anyplace. I have found no death records for Rachel. Please help tear down this wall.
