Lumpkin Parkes Adams, born 1869 in Elbert Co., GA, the son of Singleton Allen Adams and Sarah Milligan Bond, married on 15 May 1899 in Newton Co., MS to Mattie Day, dau. of Zachariah Day. By 1900 they were in Leake Co., MS with a daughter Claude, age 2 mos. By 1910 Mattie was heading the household in Forrest Co.,Hattiesburg, MS, with children Claude, 10, Lowery, 5, and Evelyn Adams, 2. Lumpkin had reportedly been killed in a railroad accident. By 1920 Mattie had remarried to William C. Little and still in Hattiesburg with children Claude, Lowery and Evelyn Adams, and with children Mildred and Jessie Little. By 1930 William C. Little and Mattie were in Rankin Co., MS with children Mildred, Jessie and Robert Little, and Evelyn Adams,age 21. The SSDI shows one Lowery Adams, born 27 Apr 1905, died May 1969 in Jackson, Hinds Co., MS. I would like to make contact with any descendants of Lumpkin Adams. My email yonahdells@windstream.net
