My great grandmother was Rebecca C. Adams b. 7-1-1820 Owen Co. KY and d. 3-17-1901 KY. She married 4-7-1836 to James E. Groom b. 9-3-1810 Estill Co. KY and d. 10-4-1886. They had 16 children.
Rebecca's mother was Sarah (Sally) Holtzclaw b. 11-7-1795. Her father was John Adams b. 11-18-1784 in Norfolk Co. MA. They m. 6-5-1813 in Fayette Co. KY. We have lots of records of the Holtzclaw family, but nothing on John Adams. If anyone has information about him, please e-mail me. Thanks.
We were told that John Adams was a descendant of the president since some of his relatives lived in Braintree, Mass.
