My father is Jorge Adames from the Dominican Republic. His father is Rafael Adames and his mother is Ana Josefa Vargas. They relocated to New York when my father was a child in the 1940s. They still have many relations in the DR. I was informed by another Adames that many many years ago (centuries) two brothers named Adames came from Spain to the Caribbean. They had many children who migrated all over the Caribbean and into S. America. She told me that anyone with the surname Adames who's family comes from the Caribbean/S. America are all related. I was told that there were some members of the Adames family who were pirates. I'm looking for more info. on this. I hope this helps.
