Hello everyone:
I am trying to find confirmation of who the parents of François Adam, my GGGF are. The dates I have for the date and place of his birth and death are April 29, 1837 in Marieville, Quebec, Canada and June 22, 1906 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, USA. He was married to Marie Valiquette on September 9 or 10, 1867, in Sainte-Angele-de-Monnoir, Quebec, Canada. She was born on February 11, 1847 in Saint-Cesaire, Quebec, Canada, and died on December 19, 1919 in Woonsocket.
I am confused because, depending on what source I follow, his parents are listed as Joseph Adam Ledoux and Josette de Rainville Miret (no records exist of anyone named De Rainville Miret except on Mormon genealogy sites), Joseph Adam and Josette Miret (no official record of such a couple) or Joseph Adam and Josette Rainville (an official record exists, however Josette Rainville would have been 52 at the time of birth, which does not add up). None of these tracks lead to an official record of the birth of François, however. I have no records, only leads. Can anyone help?
