I am looking for information on the family of Elizabeth Sarah Adams born May 11, 1752/3 in Halifax County, Va and died bef April 1834 in Franklin County, Georgia. She married Col. Charles Word born 1740 in Halifax County, Va, and died 1780 at the Battle of Kings Mountain in Franklin, Ga. Her parents were John Adams(c. 1705-1769) and Eleanor Powell. John's parents were John Adams, Sr. (1673 -Va) and Elizabeth Johns (c. 1677-?) The children of Elizabeth Sarah Adams and Col. Charles Word were:
1. Mary Polly (1777-?) md John Hooper
2. Thomas md Elizabeth Bryson
3. William
4. Cuthbert (c.1742-c. 1779) died a prisoner on a British ship
5.Peter(c. 1745-?) md Francis Elam
6. Judith (1747-18360) md John Collier.
Sarah married 2nd Richard Brooks Hooper (May 17, 1756/58 -1840)
Their children were:
1. John Word (1782-?)
2. Nancy (1783 -1877)
3. Matthew Brooks (1788-?)
4.Susanna (1789-?)
5. Jessie Carter (1791-?)
6 James Adams (1793-?)
7. Amelia Monroe (1798 -?)
8 Obediah (1785-?)
I am particularly interested in the Adams family. I would also like to have more on the children's Spouses and kids.
