I can add some additional information to the Abercrombie family. I have an abstract of a will from John Gourley of Cumberland County Pennsylvania as follows:
Wills: Abstracts 1795-1803: Will Book F: Cumberland Co, PA
GOORLEY, JOHN, Dickinson. July 11, 1798. February 1, 1803. Dau. Isabella. To son in law Aron Watson and children, the share intended for dau. Mary. Daus. Jean, Elizabeth and Agness. Only son John. Grandsons John Crawford, John Wishard and John Abercrombie and John Sproat and [John Watson mentioned in actual copy of will] Dau. Margret. Exs: Samuel Weakley and William Lusk. Wit: John Foster, John Weakley, Robt. McCreary. F. 339-340.
John Gourley was my fifth great grandfather. Based on the will above I assume that one of his daughters mentioned married an Abercrombie and their son's name was John. I'm wondering if this is James Abercrombie in Washington County Pennsylvania.
