Nancy Crumley, first wife of James Abercrombie (born 1765), apparently comes from the James Crumley/Catherine Gilkeys family line located initially in Chester County, Pennsylvania. James Crumley who apparently passed in 1764 (will dated 1757 and proved August 9, 1764) shows in his will sons John, William, Henry and Samual, a daughter Mary, a granddaughter Ruth Doster and a brother Thomas and a sister Joan. I have yet to ascertain the father of Nancy Crumley. She could be the daughter of James Crumley born after the will was executed in 1757 or a daughter of one of his sons. Soon after the death of James Crumbly, the sons were living near Newberry County, South Carolina. James Abercrombie and Nancy Crumley were married in South Carolina circa 1783. Further research is obviously needed, but these Crumleys appears to be Nancy Crumley's family line. To be continued...
