(1)Information extracted from the "Dawes Report" findings: a.) Beck Indian ancestry and marriages and b.) Duncan Indian ancestry and marriages (two Abercrombie/Beck daughters married two Duncan brothers who were also of mixed Indian blood. (2) James Abercrombie sold his land in South Carolina that required the signature of his wife (Mary Ann Beck) to release her "dower" interest in the land, if any. She was referenced as Ann Beck in the various deed documents. Signed with an X mark. (3) Special "1805" Jackson County, Georgia census. Mary Ann Beck is shown as Mary. (4) Abercrombie/Duncan Civil War pension applications showing short ancestries back to an Indian "Beck" woman. (5) Letter correspondence from Abercrombies family members (late 1800s) indicating James Abercrombie who died circa 1820 married twice and the second to an Indian woman named Beck. The James Abercrombie that moved to Jackson County, Georgia and was living on Indian land at the time of his death was married twice...first to Nancy Crumley (died circa 1799 or early 1800) and second to Mary Ann Beck. Thanks for your impute on the Pennsylvania name usage between those of German and Dutch descent.
