Hi JIM ABERCROMBIE,

I could not find the letter you refer to that I wrote about "The Gravestone of Hannah Abercrombie Dowdey", so I am in hopes you will find this one so close to the front of the Abercrombie's. The death date of George Washington Stratton was January 23, 1935, in Cedar Rapids Iowa, Linn County, Iowa. He was buried in a nearby cemetery, but I do not find the name of the cemetery on this death certificate. it is signed by his som G. R. Abercrombie, his son, George Robinson Stratton.

If you find any letters from Charles E. Simms, I think he knows quite a bit abt the Stratton-Abercrombie family, I think the rest of the boys went on West to the county of Marion over on the western border of Alabama. George W. Stratton was born abt April 1, 1869, in Tallapoosa, County, AL. I think he usually gave his birth date as April 1, 1870. Easier to remember. He married Minnie Civil Yaws, Sept 06, 1893 in Cuero, DeWitt, TX. She was the dau of William Yaws and Nancy Reader.

If you can tell me which page the letter I wrote is on in the Abercrombie file on the genforum, I will look again and see if I can find it if this is not all you need. Good to hear from you.

Colleen Yates
