I was interested to see your posting in Genealogy.com regarding James Abercrombie, James Abercrombie was my great, great, great, great grandfather, I am related through his son William Abercrombie (born 1 October 1790) who married Janet Brash.
I see you managed to trace the family back to 1575, I seem to get stuck with James Abercrombie, although I have him marrying Janet Forrester in 1771, then marrying Helen Forrester abt 1801.
